Parc Du Millenaire

PROJECT YEAR: 2015-expected
ARCHITECT: KPF
SENIOR/LEAD DESIGNER: Ahmed ElHusseiny (AE Superlab)/Jean Dubuisson
CLIENT: ICADE

Located along the northern edge of the principal ring road encircling metropolitan Paris (the boulevard Péripherique), Parc Du Millénaire 3 and 4 (PDM 3 and 4) are landmark structures that will serve as the public face of, and the physical gateway to the larger Parc Du Millénaire development. The design of the buildings wraps a refined adaptive skin around bold sculptural polygonal forms. The polygonal volumes of the buildings are sliced, cut, and punctured in response to their proximity to the ring road and the canal, and to accommodate functional requirements such as entry canopies and mechanical space. The high-tech façade subtly changes and adapts in reaction to the varying environmental and urban conditions as it wraps around the building’s various elevations.
